Homes Victoria: Big Housing Build & Social Housing Growth Fund (SHGF) Introduction

Victoria’s Big Housing Build will transform the social housing system by delivering the largest single increase and largest-ever investment in social and affordable housing in Victoria’s history. It’s an initiative that will change many lives for the better, now and into the future.

We produced this short animated explainer to help Homes Victoria announce the awarded grants to 89 projects across the state to deliver safe and secure homes for Victorians doing it tough. With a total value of over $1 billion, this is the largest ever commitment to community housing in our state’s history.

Together with community housing providers, Homes Victoria will deliver 2,352 new social housing homes and create more than 9,000 jobs, with shovels in the ground by the end of the year.
