ACSO: Centrelink Explainer

In 1983, the Australian Community Support Organisation (ACSO) commenced as a small support agency staffed by volunteers (then called The Epistle Centre; later The Victorian Offender Support Agency) for ex-prisoners who were highly disadvantaged.

They have grown over the 30 years to become a “provider of choice” in the delivery of a range of services and programs responding to unemployment, mental illness, disability, homelessness, substance use and offending behaviour. They now deliver programs across Victoria, New South Wales & Queensland.

ACSO actively supports people with a second chance to reintegrate into society, actively reduce crime and make a safer community for all.

We were asked to produce a few short explainer videos to showcase their services and highlight the key aspects of importance for those who would otherwise find leaving prison problematic.

This particular segment on Centrelink was intended to highlight to those currently in prison what financial services were available to them on the outside, to help them reintegrate into the community with success. Life may have changed since their imprisonment, so we shared ACSO's mantra; to make change for the better.

With a bold mission statement that everyone deserves a second chance, we couldn't agree more and were happy to help.
